Así lo ha indicado un informe de TechInsghts, que señala que el suministro mundial de DRAM solo abarcará el 60 % de la demanda a finales del año que viene. Además, a través de este estudio se señala a la principal responsable de esta situación: la inteligencia artificial.
Y es que parte del programa reside en la memoria de alto ancho de banda, también conocida como HBM. Este es un componente indispensable para entrenar a modelos de lenguaje de gran tamaño, como es la IA. En este sentido, la industria cada vez dedica más producción a estas herramientas, al mismo tiempo que la escasez se está prolongando y la flaqueza se dispara.
Además, esta crisis podría afectar a otros componentes, incluso llegando a móviles y ordenadores. La DRAM convencional está siendo sacrificada con la finalidad de que puedan cumplir con los pedidos masivos de HBM. Por ello, como la mirada está cada vez más puesta sobre la inteligencia artificial, la producción se ve afectada. En este sentido, el alcance de la fabricación mundial debería aumentar un 12 % al año para poder equilibrar la balanza convencional.
Una tendencia al alza
Una de las consecuencias directas más esperadas está relacionada con el precio. Y es que la escasez de estos componentes podría afectar al bolsillo de los consumidores. Con un mercado de la memoria tan al alza, los fabricantes de móviles y de PC estarán obligados a encarecer sus productos para paliar los costes derivados de la obtención de estos chips.
Con una demanda de memoria tan alta, una de las recomendaciones principales dirigidas al público general se centra en conservar los buenos dispositivos que ya poseen. Y es que, si se prolonga la crisis de la RAM, podría ser complejo encontrar aparatos que satisfagan las necesidades de los consumidores por un coste asequible.
